These guys are great! They are so honest its hard to see how they stay in business. Over the years I have given them work mostly in the form of laptop maintenance, and buying the odd part for something that fails on one of my machines. All-in-all, however, I really have gotten more value out of the free advice they have given me. These people deserve my business and your business because honestly and integrity seem to be so hard to find these days. The other day, my laptop's monitor was not fully coming on. (It has actually been acting that way for the last few months.) This time I thought my machine was a gonner. When I brought it over to Laptops Plus in Kearny Mesa to show them the problem, my computer made a liar out of me. (It wrked.) I explained what was going on, and the tech (I forgot his name) told me it was probably not the video card, but the Something or other inverter. That was 2 days ago, and the machine has been working fine. He told me what I could do to deal with this problem, which took business away from them. (A dishonest shop would have tried to talk me into leaving the machine for a diagnostic, and then would have urged me to replace some parts.) One small complaint though. They post hours of 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, but do not open right a 10:00 AM even when you are outside the door. I appreciate their right to chose their own hours, and if they want to open at 10:00 so be it. It would just be nice though if they opened up at 10:00 AM when customers are waiting outside.
