Laptops Plus charges $85.00 (FREE for a limited time) for Diagnostics. This fee will be applied to any repairs that are performed while the laptop is at Laptops Plus. The fee is not transferable, or can’t be applied at any other time.

Laptops Plus is the best Laptop Repair Facility in San Diego that specializes in Express Laptop Repair. Our Express Repair Service is the fastest available in San Diego. Most laptops can be fixed in 24 hours or less. We have a large inventory of parts, but some parts must be special ordered that can delay the turnaround time.

If you need a dedicated technician to help you through any problem, we have a solution for you. Our One on One Service will provide you a Laptops Plus technician for any of the services we provide. During an Express VIP Repair, the technician will spend time with the customer in the store and perform the repair in the presence of the customer. The technician will answer any questions that the customer has, and give the customer advice on how to avoid future repairs.

We have a high success rate removing viruses, but in some cases, the computer may need a Format and Reload. To save your data you also might need a Deluxe Data Backup or Economy Data Backup. Device Drivers and the Importance to Virus Removal The correct Device Drivers are important to Virus Removal because viruses sometimes modify or replace vital componet of the Operating System. In most cases, some device drivers must be reloaded. Laptop device drivers are a bit harder to find and install, because there are multiple drivers that could work, but are not the correct driver for your laptop. So, it is important that an experienced technican load the correct drivers, not just a generic driver that may cause trouble down the road.

It requires a complete disassembly of the laptop, at which point the spill is cleaned from the components by using a special cleaning product to remove all corrosive material from the main system board. Our technicians have a very high success rate. If we are unsuccessful at bringing your computer back to life, you will only pay our $85 diagnostic fee. In case of a spill, the best course of action is the following

• Immediatly turn off your laptop and remove the battery
• Put a dry towel on top of the laptop, above the spill
• Turn the laptop upside down and let the fluid drain into the towel

Some fluids are extremely corrosive (ie Juice, Wine, Beer) and will damage your laptop’s motherboard in a matter of hours or days, even if your laptop is turned off. No matter what, DO NOT use your laptop until the spill is cleaned.

In the case of a water spill, corrosion is less of a concern, but water spilled into a laptop will leave behind minerals that can effect the function of your laptop, since the minerals can cause a short circuit.

Managers Special $199 for a limited time! The DC Input Jack Repair is very common, yet most difficult laptop repairs. The DC Input Jack is also known as the Power Jack or the Power Plug. The DC Input Jack is where the power goes into the laptop. The DC Input Jack is a tragically weak point in laptops because it is very fragile, and commonly abused.

This repair is so common that the price of $263.06 ($199 for a limited time) is all inclusive (Parts, Labor, and tax). We’re not like other places that will state one price and then charge a higher price later. We guarantee that we will fix it, or we will only charge a $95 attempt fee. Some of the common ways that the DC Input Jack is broken include:

• Putting the Laptop in the Bag with the AC Adapter still plugged in.
• Banging the Laptop against the back of a Desk.
• Walking off with the Laptop while it is still plugged into the wall.
• Someone tripping over the Power Plug while it is plugged into the computer.
• Putting a constant strain on the plug by using the Laptop on a soft surface, such as a bed

Our technician will format the hard drive and install your Operating System. We can reload Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Vista to factory specifications, install the correct drivers, and install the latest updates and service packs for your operating system.

For customers who have important data that they do not want to loose, a Deluxe Data Backup or an Economy Data Backup is recommended in addition to the Format and Reload.

The Deluxe Data Backup will restore your computer to a state that is familar to you. We place all your files and email data back into the same locations after performing a Format and Reload.

When a computer needs to have the Operating System Reloaded, the hard drive is completely erased. Before we erase your data, we ask if you need your data backed up.

When you choose our Deluxe Data Backup Service, in conjunction with a Format and Reload, the following steps are taken:

• All of Your Data will be backed up
• The Hard Drive in your Laptop will be completely erased
• Your Operating System will be reloaded
• Your Data will be migrated back to your Hard Drive
• Your Microsoft Outlook data will be reconfigured to work with Outlook
• Your Browser “Favorites” will be reinstalled
• Your “My Documents” and other data folders will be restored to the original condition

An economy backup is the most economical way to preserve the data on your machine if we need to perform a Format and Reload.

When a computer needs to have the Operating System Reloaded, the hard drive is completely erased. Before we erase your data, we ask if you need your data backed up.

When you choose our Economy Data Backup Service, in conjunction with a Format and Reload, the following steps are taken:

• All of Your Data will be backed up
• The Hard Drive in your Laptop will be completely erased
• Your Operating System will be reloaded
• Your Data will be placed in a folder on the desktop called –Backup–
